God promises in His word that we will have joy during trials. (James 1:2). Before going through any big trial, it seems hard to imagine it could ever bring us joy.
It’s very hard to put this past week’s events into words. It has been full of tears and pain because my little brother is still in the hospital fighting for his life. It has also been full of incredible joy and comfort through reading God’s word and for the many brothers and sisters in Christ have been fervently praying for him. The greatest amazement, to me, is that most have never met him and that what was my burden now keeps them up at night, praying for him.
I love times like these when scripture comes to life (James 5:16, Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 4:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:17). These moments are proof that God is listening and that prayer is moving him!
God works things all together for His glory and His purposes in His perfect timing. Around here, we have been meditating on the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23), especially patience. Carrying on by God’s grace. Playing, baby-food making, watching the raindrops, reading, and celebrating the little things along the way.
